Description
The car’s body is a BMW 3 Series E46, and its weight distribution is perfect for the art of DRIFT. Adhering to the weight, only the necessary components are found in the car, replaced with homologated parts compliant with racing regulations. The roll cage contributes significantly to safety, but it does not help reduce the desired weight. Therefore, the car weighs 1200 kg, which is considered extremely light. The 4400cc reprogrammed V8 engine, equipped with racing camshafts and valve springs, can unleash 400 horsepower. Continuing with the powertrain, there is a three-plate clutch between the gearbox and the engine, confidently handling this power. The gearbox is a 5-speed, equipped with a short shifter and a reinforced structure. The fully enclosed differential provides even power distribution during drifts.
The custom-made exhaust system is responsible for the musical aspect of the experience, sounding truly magnificent in our ears above 7000 rpm. The hydraulic handbrake, a fundamental element of drifting, is also present in the car. For safety, the aforementioned roll cage and 4-point harness hold us securely in the bucket seats. The pride of the car lies in its suspension, which, thanks to wheel tilt and divergence, can maintain stability during the uncertain moments of drifting. The training is conducted by Gergely Borsi, a six-time Hungarian champion racing driver.
